AIA UK typically has a packed calendar of events, and the start of 2024 has been no exception. The chapter kicked off the year with the 2024 Annual General Meeting on 17 January, hosted by AIA UK sponsor Herman Miller, to celebrate the year just gone by and to look to the year ahead.

November and December have been incredibly eventful months for AIA Hong Kong, filled with exciting activities and achievements. We are thrilled to share that we recently hosted a highly successful joint event in Singapore in collaboration with our long-time Corporate Affiliate, AHEC.

Here are just some of the exciting events which took place this autumn…

On Thursday 16 February 2023, the landmark UK-US architect Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA) between the UK Architects Registration Board (ARB) and the US National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) was officially signed in London at the Old Admiralty Building Churchill Room.

Our chapter started the Autumn in high gear, with a very packed schedule, but most importantly the resumption of our in-person events. The first of these was the much-loved Summer Gala: ‘Soiree in the Jungle’, which was held at the ZSL London Zoo on Friday 10 September.

This summer, our popular 2021 Virtual Building Tour series continued, featuring three buildings: One Fen Court by Eric Parry on 10 June, Carnaby Court by Rolfe Judd on 08 July, and Belle Vue by Morris + Company on 12 August.

AIA UK Vice President Anna Foden, Assoc. AIA, also hosted our second Virtual Design Awards Gala on 30 June, with honours presented for our 2021 AIA UK Excellence in Design Awards.
