AIA UK Update - April 2025
At the AIA UK AGM, 16 January 2025
AIA UK Highlights
AIA United Kingdom is known for its busy calendar, and the start of this year has been no exception. Here are just some of our recent events and initiatives.
Movie Nights
The grey and dark London winter days call for a visit to the cinema! We kicked off this year with a sold-out screening on February 11 of New England Modernism, a compelling documentary that traces the evolution of Modernist architecture in the American Northeast. In March, we followed this with Green Over Gray, a film that explores the green architecture revolution through the lens of four projects by Emilio Ambasz.
US/ UK MRA and Licensure
We continue to support and celebrate members earning licensure in the UK via the Mutual Recognition Agreement; most recently, Bryan Oknyansky, AIA ARB kindly shared his experience on our blog. Coming up on 8 April, we look forward to an event all about Preparing to take the Mutual Recognition Agreement Exam, led by Alex Miller, AIA RIBA and Bryan Oknyansky to help further demystify the process for our members.
Member Dues Tax Relief Announcement
Finally, in a bid to make membership more accessible and deliver value for our members, the AIA UK board was pleased to announce that AIA UK Dues are now fully tax deductible in the UK! This applies to all elements of dues AIA UK members pay, i.e. National, state and local chapter dues.
