This course is designed to help you consider what it takes to design restrooms that are sustainable and safe, without breaking the bank. Commercial restrooms have never played a more vital role than they do today in supporting occupant health and safety. In addition to supporting the basic biological functions of building occupants, the increased focus on viral and pollutant exposure is driving more and more people into bathrooms to wash and thoroughly dry their hands. This course walks through the basic considerations in designing commercial restrooms to support efficient and effective hand washing, highlighting sustainability, safety, and savings. Along the way, this course will identify the potential use of high speed, energy efficient hand dryers to satisfy the requirements of current third-party rating systems, such as LEED v4.1, the WELL Health-Safety Rating, and TRUE Zero Waste.
