Co-Living Webinar

AIA Hong Kong will host an online panel discussion on co-living on May 14, 2020. AIA member Yimei Chan, Design Principal of LOD Space, will present several projects the firm has completed in Beijing, Shanghai and Suzhou that are centered around co-living, and examine how existing/historical buildings can be adapted to new modes of social activity. Her client, Ascott, will share their insight as an operator of co-living projects. The panel will raise questions such as the impact of social distancing on shared spaces and the sharing economy, among others.
This panel discussion is free for all AIA IR members, with a maximum of 100 participants. Below are instructions for participating in this event:

Yimei Chan’s Profile
Yimei Chan, AIA
Yimei Chan graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, New York with BArch, BSc in Building Science and Civil Engineering degrees. She has been with notable firms including Steven Holl Architects, Bing Thom Architects, Aedas and SOM. She brings to all projects over twenty years of professional experience internationally. Her research focus on architectural concepts for enhanced experience. Her works bring along design thinking strategy and multi-discipline approach to enhance user’s experience, innovate interactive spatial experience and develop future space concept.
Her completed works include Soundon Masterplan (Hunan), Tujia Headquarter (Beijing), Marina Residence (Beijing), Ascott Citadines Apart’hotel (Xuzhou), Xiqu Center (Hong Kong), Vanke Center (Shenzhen), Linked Hybrid (Beijing), SkyPlaza (Hong Kong) and Aberdeen Center (Vancouver).
Moderator’s Profile
Paul Tse, AIA
Paul Tse is co-founder of New Office Works and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He received 1st prize in the inaugural Hong Kong Young Architects & Designers Competition, 2nd prize in the Busan Opera House Competition and 2019 Perspective 40 Under 40 Award. His works have been exhibited internationally, including the 16th Venice Biennale and London Festival of Architecture in 2019.
Prior to NOW, he worked at Adjaye Associates in London as a project lead for various cultural and commercial projects and played a key role in establishing Adjaye Shanghai. He has also worked at Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA) and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM) in New York, and MAD in Beijing.
Paul has received a Master of Architecture from RMIT University in Melbourne and a Master in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University GSAPP, where he was awarded
the Honor Award for Excellence in Design. He is a licensed architect in New York State.
